Real World Wiring Diagram
The fuse holders connect to the vehicle's fuse block. Follow these steps:
- Fuse holder connects to the lighted manual switch's bottom terminal providing the 12V+ power source.
- The center terminal of the switch is connected to the wire that leads down to the oil pressure switch on the trans case.
- The third connection switch is a ground (-) terminal that connects to the lead from the transmission connector plug.
- The ring terminals are both grounds.
Testing the Lockup Solenoid
- Connect the transmission connector plug to the transmission plug securely.
- Apply 12V+ voltage to the loose pigtail of the connector plug.
- Listen for a faint "click" inside the transmission, indicating a functioning solenoid.
- If no click is heard, ground the lead with the eyelet. If still no click, inspect and potentially replace the lockup solenoid.
