TH350 Setup: Cooling, Converter, and Install Best Practices

Jump to: Cooling & fluidConverter matchingGearing with non-ODInstall checklist

Cooling & fluid

Heat kills clutches. Flush or replace the cooler and lines, verify strong return flow, and add a low-restriction auxiliary cooler for hot climates or spirited use. Use fresh, high-quality ATF and verify level at temperature.

Converter matching

Stall choice affects launch and heat. Your SportMonster TH350 ships with a matched converter based on weight, rear gear, tire, and torque curve for crisp launches and drivability.

Gearing with a non-overdrive

TH350 is a stout 3-speed. Pick rear gears with cruise rpm and tire size in mind. Balanced gearing keeps cruise rpm reasonable while maintaining punch off the line.

Installation checklist (quick hits)

  • Flush/replace cooler & lines; confirm strong return flow
  • Fill with quality ATF; set level warm per procedure
  • Verify converter is fully seated before install
  • Check kickdown cable/switch function (application dependent)
  • Recheck fasteners & leaks after first heat cycles
