Line Pressure & Bands
Verify base and TV/pressure settings per spec after install. Proper band adjustment and apply components prevent heat and flare. Recheck after the first heat cycles.
Cooling & Fluid
Heat kills clutches. Flush or replace cooler & lines, confirm strong return flow, and add auxiliary cooling for towing or hot climates. Use fresh, high-quality ATF and set level at operating temperature.
Electronics (Solenoid/Sensor)
Governor/pressure electronics must be healthy for consistent apply. Replace aged sensors/solenoids as needed and verify harness integrity during install.
Converter Matching
Stall too low can lug the combo; too high overheats. We include a matched lockup converter based on torque curve, weight, gear, tire, and intended use.
Installation Checklist (quick hits)
- Flush/replace cooler & lines; verify strong return flow
- Set fluid level warm; use quality ATF
- Adjust bands and verify base/TV line pressure
- Confirm converter is fully seated before install
- Inspect/replace critical electronics and wiring as needed
47RE Tech FAQs
Do I need tuning?
No external TCM tune is required, but you must verify pressure strategy and band adjustments appropriate to the vehicle and build.
How do I extend life under tow?
Keep temps in check with an auxiliary cooler and ensure converter stall and lockup strategy suit your load and gearing.
