That’s why our builds focus on clutch capacity + apply control, and why cooler flow matters as much as the build itself. If your truck works for a living, cooling is not an “extra” — it’s protection.
Lockup slip under load creates heat fast. We include a matched converter for each tier so lockup behavior stays controlled (especially on tuned/tow rigs) and you don’t cook the fluid or glaze a fresh clutch pack.
Start with clean fluid and verified cooler return flow. Replace or properly flush the cooler and lines, and for tow/heat scenarios add a low-restriction auxiliary cooler. Always set fluid level correctly after warm-up. (Follow Ford’s procedure for your exact year/engine.)
After install, follow factory procedures for any required calibration updates and adaptive relearn. The goal is simple: get clean shift timing and controlled lockup on fresh clutches — especially before you hook a trailer.
