Ram ProMaster Transmissions — Built for Real Work
Your van is a business tool. Our Monster 62TE builds for ProMaster keep temps under control, lock-up solid, and shift timing crisp—so routes get finished and downtime stays off the schedule.
One Platform. Two 62TE Generations.
Ram ProMaster 1500/2500/3500 models with the 3.6L Pentastar use the 62TE automatic. In 2019, the transmission received a larger parking pawl and other updates. We build to the nuances of each era so your unit installs cleanly and lasts longer.

ProMaster 62TE FAQ
Answers to common questions from fleet managers, upfitters, and DIY builders.
What changed on the 2019–2021 62TE?
Ram revised the 62TE with a larger parking pawl and related internal updates. Use a late-model-spec unit for 2019–2021 vans to ensure proper fitment and operation.
Can I use a 2014–2018 unit in a 2019+ van (or vice-versa)?
We don’t recommend mixing eras. Hardware and calibration differences can lead to fitment and durability issues. Provide your VIN and we’ll confirm the correct build.
Do I need programming or a relearn after install?
Yes. Clear adaptives and complete a relearn drive cycle. This helps the TCM align pressure and timing to the fresh transmission and converter.
What fluid should I run?
Use the OEM-specified ATF+4 and follow shortened service intervals for heavy stop-and-go or high-heat routes. Clean cooler paths and consider an auxiliary cooler.
Will a Monster 62TE increase my tow or payload ratings?
No—those are set by the manufacturer. Our upgrades improve durability and shift quality so your van performs more consistently within its rated capacity.
